Fatigue is a common complaint that can greatly impact health, mood, and recovery. Knowing this, it is helpful to know how to counsel our patients on how to combat fatigue (and perhaps take the advice ourselves!). 

Harvard Health Publishing lists 9 tips to boost your energy naturally, without fancy supplements: 

  1. Control stress 
  2. Lighten your load (don't overwork) 
  3. Exercise 
  4. Avoid smoking 
  5. Restrict your sleep (yes, you read that right) 
  6. Eat for energy (foods with a low glycemic index) 
  7. Use caffeine to your advantage 
  8. Limit alcohol 
  9. Drink water
