What is it?
This toolkit was developed for service providers that work with adults that have experienced or have been affected by trauma in some way. The authors wanted to help service providers treat from a trauma-informed perspective and develop therapeutic relationships with their patients focused on safety, trust and compassion. This resource discusses topics such as trauma-informed practice, elements of post-traumatic stress disorder, the different types of trauma and their effects, and many other related topics.
We think this resource is very valuable for clinicians in any setting. It is not uncommon for our patients to have experienced some sort of trauma in their lives, related or unrelated to their injury, and it is crucial for healthcare providers to have an understanding of trauma and how it can effect their patients. Although this resource is lengthy, it is very well organized and goes into great detail on the many facets of trauma. Check it out!
